A National Infrastructure for School Mental Health
SBHSN™ was built to solve a systemic problem: the gap between the scale of the student mental health crisis and the reach of existing services.
Our Mission
Ensuring every student has access to mental health care on campus.
SBHSN™ is a private grant-making organization committed to expanding access to quality behavioral healthcare in under-resourced schools across the United States. We harness the school building as the most reliable access point in a child's life — funding, placing, and supporting mental health professionals directly on campus, not in distant clinics, not behind waitlists.
Since 2020, funding has reached more than 1 million students across 21 states — each of whom now has a qualified professional down the hall.

The Grant Review Committee
Every SBHSN™ grant application is reviewed by an independent committee of professionals from the fields of education, healthcare, and law. This multi-disciplinary review ensures that awarded grants reach schools where the need is greatest and the capacity to deliver outcomes is highest.
Committee members have served inside the structures school districts actually use to deliver mental health care — the departments our applicants work within every day. That experience shapes a review process that is rigorous, realistic, and grounded in how schools operate.
Student & Pupil Services

Looking Ahead
820 More Schools. A Sustainable Infrastructure.
Our immediate goal is to expand to 820 additional schools in the coming years, deepening our presence in the 21 states we already serve and entering new geographies.
Long-term, SBHSN™ is actively advocating for federal legislative support and reimbursement through managed care and coordinated care organizations to create a sustainable, school-embedded mental health infrastructure that does not depend solely on grant cycles.
